Thermal
The North Chennai Power Company Ltd (NCPCL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle, and incorporated under the Company’s Act 1956, to develop and establish a Thermal Power Plant (1200MW) using imported coal at Kattupalli and Kalanji villages in Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu near North of Ennore Port, Chennai, India. This power project will use imported coal.
Present Status
All necessary clearances including the Environmental Clearance(EC) and the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances have been obtained from MOEF, New Delhi for the setting up of this Coastal Thermal Power Plant based on imported coal.
Tuticorin Power Company Pvt Ltd (TPCPL), a SPV promoted by Aban Group, Chennai to set up 2X660MW Super Critical Power Plant with Imported coal as fuel. Project site is at South Veerapandiapuram, and North Silukkanpatti, Tuticorin District, Tamil Nadu. 550 acres of land has been acquired for the 2x660MW Super Critical Thermal Power Plant project. Coal will be imported from Indonesia, Australia and South Africa.
Preliminary Feasibility and configuration studies have been completed.
Wind
Aban Offshore Limited (AOL) and its subsidiaries own Wind Energy Farms of 70MW capacity in Tamil Nadu and these wind farms have been in continuous operation since 1996.
The AOL wind farms are located at Radhapuram Pazhavoor and Kavalkinaru in Tirunelveli district of south Tamil Nadu.
Aban Energies Limited (AEL) operates and maintain KVS-33 model, 410 KW capacity wind turbines. It uses the variable speed technology, which generates more power, reduces wear and tear and maintenance costs. The KVS-33 wind turbine incorporates sophisticated micro-processor control systems which facilitate the effective management and control of wind turbines from a Central Control Room round the clock.
AEL has a well-trained team of engineers and staff for operation and maintenance of these wind farms to achieve the target generation.
AOL through its subsidiaries Radhapuram Windtech Private Limited (RWPL) and Aban Green Power Private Limited (AGPPL) caters energy requirements of its clients through Group Captive Scheme.
Radhapuram Wintech Private Limited is a subsidiary of Aban Offshore Ltd with the wind mills in Radhapuram and Pazhavoor of Tirunelveli District.
The entire power generated from the wind mills is wheeled to Group Captive customers to meet their captive power requirements.
